Landing School District

Through support from the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service “Local Food Promotion Program” (2015-2016), the “Healthy Lansing” Business Model and Feasibility Study offers a roadmap to expanded food access for more than 6,000 youth and family households within the Lansing School District and north side neighborhoods within Ingham County. Specifically, working with the Michigan State University Product Center and Executive MBA Class of 2017, this project assessed partnership with Allen Market Place food hub for healthy food supply, processing and distribution capabilities, scaling and larger regional partnership to offer elementary schools fresh locally grown fruit and vegetable side dishes.
