Flint National Service Accelerator

flint national service accelerator

One-Community Consulting began developing the Flint National Service Accelerator as a special project of the C.S. Mott Foundation in 2011 through 2014. Today, a program of the United Way of Genesee County, it is a nationally recognized model of civic engagement success as a demonstration pilot of the Aspen Insitute’s Franklin Project. In partnership with the C.S. Mott Foundation, Community Foundation of Greater Flint, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint and the United Way, the Accelerator program offers funding and program management such that National Service resources are not cost-prohibitive to nonprofit, governmental and academic organizations. Utilizing Corporation for National and Community Service support, the Accelerator focuses on employing locally disadvantaged youth to alleviate brain drain, provide professional development and organizational technical assistance.
